Description:
Position is located in Wright,
wyoming
and is responsible for the installation and day-to-day maintenance of data networks, voice networks, and video conferencing systems supporting the business requirements at mine and office locations. This position reports to the Network
services
Manager.
Principal Accountabilities:
Provide first level of support for LAN, voice and video conferencing systems.
Provide proactive administration of communication systems by performing configuration, setup, internetworking and problem determination of LAN network environments.
Support the LAN/WAN environment with vendor partners, other IT departments, and business users. This includes problem troubleshooting activities and understanding new business requirements for network-enabled systems.
Assist and direct IT Onsite personnel with managing the IT networking infrastructure including all routers, switches, installations, maintenance and support.
Participate in the evaluation of new technologies coordinated by the Corporate Global Network Services Team.
Keep site documentation of data and voice networks accurate and up to date based on the standards set by the Corporate Global Network Services and Information Security teams.
Employing a continuous improvement process to improve IT service availability. This includes continuously reviewing network implementations to ensure that they meet the needs of the business
community
.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required in a
computer
related field or equivalent experience.
Cisco CCNA certification is a plus.
Two years' experience and providing support for IT systems and services. Experience in a mining or manufacturing environment is considered to be a plus.
Must demonstrate ability to track and coordinate vendors and consultant activities.
Must possess expertise in personal computing technology relating to Intel-based PCs to include troubleshooting skills.
Familiarity with PLC's (Rockwell, etc,) dragline systems, scale systems, coal quality analyzers, and mining specific application systems such as Matrikon or Modular Mining is considered a plus.
Must exhibit a strong ability to solve problems. Must understand networking basics including QoS, VPN, basic routing and switching, including TCP/IP, RDP, UDP, and FTP.
Knowledge of outside plant services as well as structured cabling is considered a plus.
Knowledge of PBX systems including Mitel and Cisco is considered a plus.
Must possess server technology knowledge including support of VM systems as well as physical boxes.
Must possess strong leadership qualities that require coordination with multiple teams in order to get problem resolution in a timely manner.
Must be able to work independently as a problem solver in a dynamic production based environment.
Must interact with corporate and operating companies' management teams and act as a team member in a larger project.
Knowledge and certification in an IT governance framework such as ITIL is considered a plus.
Must possess strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively in English across multiple business units on a daily basis.
Must possess or be able to obtain a passport.
Must be motivated, career minded, and be willing to work in a team environment.
